The tool has been developed by Dr Bettina
von Stamm, who has led a networking initiative called
the Innovation Exchange (http://iexchange.london.edu),
based at London Business School (www.london.edu).

With a first degree in architecture and town planning, an
MBA as well as a PhD from London Business School (titled “The
Impact of Context and Complexity in New Product Development”),
Bettina von Stamm has developed an expertise in innovation,
new product development and design.
1998 she got involved in the setting up of Innovation Exchange
which she ran until its closure in December 2003. Her responsibilities
included organizing and facilitating workshops and other events
as well as conducting innovation-related research. Insights
from her research and other work with Innovation Exchange
members have been published under the title 'Innovation
Wave' by Wiley & Sons in December

She also teaches an elective course titled, 'Managing Innovation,
Creativity and Design' at the MBA programme at London Business
School for which she has written a set on 10 case studies
sponsored by the British Design Council. The case studies
have been published as a book
under the course title (Wiley and Sons, Spring 2003).
She has recently setup a follow-up initiative, the Innovation
Leadership Forum Ltd which provides a forum for individuals
and organizations to network and share as well as develop
best practice and new knowledge around innovation. She is
also a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management.
Previous activities include developing and teaching a module
on the ‘Design Process’ of the distance learning
MBA in Design Management of the University of Westminster
and a variety of consulting, research and training projects
with clients such as the BBC, IDEO, Ford, SKF and Ernst &
Young International.
Besides being passionate about innovation she loves living
out in Norfolk with her two small boys and husband.
